The primary aim of the Department of Turkish Language and Social Sciences Education is to raise inquisitive teachers who protect the democratic and ethical values necessary for the development of our country; are respectful to people and nature; sensitive to environment, country and world problems; perceiving development as a way of life; prioritizing scientific thinking and equipped with critical thinking skills; aware of own role and responsibility in preparing new generations for life; follow international scientific and artistic developments.
The Department aims to arrange learning environments where pre-service teachers can discuss problems and facts, find solutions to problems and express themselves freely; to guide them in accessing knowledge, understanding science and interacting with art; to enable them to carry out their academic studies with an ethical, democratic and participatory approach.
Department of Turkish Language and Social Sciences Education consists of Turkish Language Education, Social Sciences Education, Geography Education, History Education, and Turkish Language and Literature Education Departments. Graduates of undergraduate programs within these Departments work as teachers in their own fields in primary and secondary education institutions.
